What are trigger points and what is Dry Needling?
Trigger points are small taut bands (similar to “knots”) within muscles that can result in pain and disrupt normal function of the entire muscle.
Dry needling is a technique utilizing small solid filaform needles inserted into tissues to address these trigger points to decrease muscle spasms and tightness, decrease inflammation, and normalize circulation. This technique is used to treat dysfunction of skeletal muscle and connective tissue, minimize pain, and improve or regulate structural or functional damage.
